Arizona's largest city, Phoenix, is located in this region, which is fast becoming a major center for manufacturing and high-technology research. In direct contrast, it also contains ruins of ancient civilizations, including Montezuma's Castle. The red rock area of Sedona, and Oak Creek Canyon provide unique scenic recreational opportunities.
The Central region includes the counties of Gila, Graham, Greenlee, Maricopa, Pinal, and Yavapai.
