British writer whose works include "Fever Pitch," a memoir of his obsession with the Arsenal football team, as well as "Songbook," a collection of essays on various pop songs, and the novels "High Fidelity," "About a Boy" and "How to Be Good." He has also written a number of articles and is currently the pop music critic for the New Yorker.
