Lake Placid is in south Highlands County, approximately 12 miles from Sebring on US Highway 27.
The "Caladium Capital of the World", Lake Placid is also famous for beautiful murals painted to portray community history. Another famous landmark is the Lake Placid Tower, highly visible from a distance as you approach the city.
