Home Builders refers to companies that build new houses, plexes or apartments, by acting as the General Contractor (or local equivalent). This category is specifically not intended to include websites for any tradesman who is not a general contractor (or local equivalent) or does not specialize in homes. It is not intended to include websites for companies that are primarily remodels, restorers, designers, consultants, developers, realtors, or any trade other than the building of new homes. This category contains several subcategories. All builders that fit into any particular subcategory should be placed in the appropriate one. It is not intended that websites be duplicated between or within these subcategories. Only builders whose activities are too broad or general for a subcategory are intended to be accepted into the main Home Builders category.
Please submit only sites of companies that provide service in a several state area (for US companies) or multiple countries (for non US companies). If the service area of your company is smaller than this your URL should be submitted to the Regional category for the appropriate state or country.
This category is for manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and constructors of residential manufactured housing. The term "manufactured home" was adopted in 1980 by the United States Congress to describe a type of house that is constructed in a factory to comply with a building code developed by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In the past, manufactured homes were called "mobile homes," a term that many people still use. However, "mobile" is no longer an accurate name because fewer than five percent of such homes are ever moved off the owner's original site.
Please take the time to review the subcategory descriptions to determine if your site is appropriate to this category or within a subcategory.
Built in a factory to the state, local or regional codes of where the home will be set-up. Modular Homes come in one or more sections, one or more stories, and in different architectural styles (Cape Cod, Victorian, Ranch, Traditional, Saltbox, Split-level, etc.). Modules are transported to the site on steel carriers, which are then removed, and reused for transporting another home (some states allow for a State Code Modular to retain an HUD like steel frame). Modular Homes are set upon permanent foundations.
Please only submit sites which relate to the Manufacturing, Distribution or Sales of Modular Homes.
Essentially flat units - portions of walls with windows, doors, wiring, and outside siding - are manufactured in a factory, shipped to a building site on a flatbed truck, and then assembled. A panelized house must meet the local, state or regional building code for its site location.

For quicker placement in the directory please follow these Submission Tips:

Tiny houses are individual homes that are very small - less than 1000 square feet but often smaller than 400 square feet. Some are built on wheels. The tiny house movement emphasizes downsizing and living simply. The houses are more affordable, in part because they usually don't require a mortgage.
This category is for commercial companies involved in the tiny house construction business. This includes house builders or sellers of plans/kits.
