Model horse collecting involves a wide range of activities. In addition to trading and selling, enthusiasts may enter their models in model "horse shows," create detailed lineages, and/or repaint and reshape their models into amazingly lifelike reproductions.
Please submit only general-interest model horse sites to this category. Sub-categories now exist for dealers, customizers, clubs, personal pages, and many more. If you are uncertain as to which sub-category to use, post to this category and your site will be placed in the most appropriate area.
Clubs and registries provide an organized structure under which model horse collectors can gather to discuss their shared hobby and compete for awards based on their horses' showing performance.
Please submit only sites which deal with clubs, registries, and associations directly related to model horses. "Live" horse associations, while they may provide good research material, are not appropriate here. These may be found in Sports: Equestrian: Breeds: Arabian: Associations and Clubs.
This category is for books, magazines, and on-line journals focused on the model horse collecting hobby. Collectors interested in Breyer models may wish to check out that company's "Just About Horses," magazine; details can be found on Breyer's web site.
Mailing lists are a way for people to discuss model horse collecting with a large group of people of similar interests. Done via e-mail, a list may be restricted to a narrow topic (such as a single breed or manufacturer) or may cover everything related to the hobby.
Please be sure to provide a clear description of your list with your submission. What does your list emphasize? Does it exclude any topics, such as sales posts? The more precise you can be the better you will attract the collectors you''re looking for.
The world of model horse collecting is growing, and people's pride in their horses, and often their artwork, is growing too. Many have created personal pages to display their collections and share helpful information and suggestions with their fellow collectors.
Please submit only sites that are primarily intended to show off your personal collection or discuss aspects of the model horse hobby. Sites that are primarily sales lists should be listed under Shopping: Recreation: Models: Horses. Customizer sites should be listed under Recreation: Collecting: Models: Horses: Artists.
Model horse shows offer an opportunity for collectors to compete against each other in the manner of live horse shows. Shows can be live (in person, with collectors gathering at a single location), or via photographs or scanned digital images.
Please submit only sites for shows that are open to all collectors regardless of club affiliation. Monthly and Grand National shows that are members-only should be included with the club''s information at Recreation: Collecting: Models: Horses: Clubs and Registries.
Tack and obstacles are frequently used in the competitive showing of model horses, both in "live" and photo shows.
Please submit only sites the primarily pertain to the selling and/or discussion of tack, obstacles and wagons/carriages. Sites that are primarily model horse sales should be listed under Shopping: Recreation: Models: Horses.
Web rings are collections of web sites linked by a common interest, in this case model horse collecting. They may be created independently or via a service such as Yahoo!.
Please be sure to submit a clear description of your web ring''s emphasis with your submission. What makes this web ring unique? Is it for personal web pages only, for sales, a certain breed, or open to all model horse topics? The more descriptive you can be, the more likely you''ll be to attract people who share your interests.
