Nordic skiing spans over a wide range of activities: Competitive Cross Country skiing has among the most fit endurance athletes in the world, but it is also a low-risk activity exercised by families in many places in the world.

Nordic skiing also involves ski-jumping; big hills are made for the purpose. Winter Expeditions involve Nordic Skiing in the Arctic and Subarctic regions of the world.

To be included in the main Sports>Winter_Sports>Skiing>Nordic category, your site should contain informational content related to recreational or competitive cross-country skiing or the other Nordic ski disciplines.

Regional resorts and cross-country skiing areas or trail systems are currently being re-evaluated for their appropriateness to the main category. They may be moved to their respective Regional>Recreation/Sports>Skiing areas.

If your site sells something related to Nordic Skiing, please submit it only in the appropriate section of Shopping>Sports>Skiing .

Nordic combined is the Nordic skiing discipline that combines ski jump and cross-country skiing. These two disciplines strain different muscles. Thus, if the athlete trains too much take-off power, he might lose his endurance for cross-country skiing and the other way round. For this reason most combiners prefer one out of these two disciplines.
Ski Jumping requires athletes to have the ultimate combination of technique and sense of timing mixed with the courage to launch themselves off a steeply pitched ramp, striving for the maximum jump distance and technical telemark landing. Ski jumping hills are named by length: normal - 90m, Large - 120m, ski flying - 200m. This category is includes links to individual ski jumper websites, jumping teams and clubs, and associations dedicated to the sport of ski jumping, a Nordic discipline.
Please submit URLs dealing ONLY with ski jumping techniques, competition information, teams, clubs or associations and organized events. Equipment retail links should be submitted appropriately to Shopping/Sports/Skiing.

Please note there is now a sub-category under ski jumping for "Ski Jumpers" - official and fan sites for individual ski jumpers. If submitting one of these sites, please go BACK and select the SKI JUMPERS sub-category.
