The Care Bears, known as a line of plush toys, also starred in their own cartoon movies, series, and specials during 1985-88. The Care Bears series began in 1985, the same year that The Care Bears Movie came out. The bears went on to star in other movies and series, including The Care Bears Family (1986), in which the bears teamed up with their animal cousins. All of the Care Bears series ran originally on ABC. The first series was produced by DiC and subsequent series were made by Nelvana.
