Walt Kelly, 1913 - 1973, was an American cartoonist best known for his daily newspaper comic strip, "Pogo."
He learned his craft as an animator at the Walt Disney Studios, where he worked from 1935 to 1941. The strip Pogo was launched in 1949 and ran until Kelly's death.
