Michel Legrand was born in Paris, France in 1932. He was fluent in jazz and classical idioms. He worked with such film luminaries as Jacques Demy, Agnus Varda, and Jean-Luc Godard and with singers Henri Salvador, Catherine Sauvage, Jacqueline Fran?ois and Maurice Chevalier. Among his honors are several Academy Award and Grammy nominations, both of which he won multiple times.
