Ukrainian composer Stanislav Pylypovych Lyudkevych (1879-1979) was also a theorist, a philologist interested in folklore, and student of music, including that of his native land. He influenced subsequent musicians and composers not only through his own works but also as a teacher in the Lviv Conservatoire.
