Norwegian Romantic period composer Christian August Sinding (1856-1941), now known mainly for the popular piano piece Frühlingsrauschen (Rustle of Spring) was in his life second only to Grieg in popularity in his native land. Other works include operas, 4 symphonies, 3 violin concertos, piano concertos, chamber music, and songs.
