The modern Flamenco Guitar is very similar to the classical guitar, but has a particularly distinctive sound and playing action.
The main differences are in the choice of wood - cypress makes the Flamenco Guitar lighter, with a lighter and more percussive sound; slightly different dimensions, with plastic tapping plates to protect the face of the guitar; and many Flamenco guitars still have push-pegs for tuning (like a violin).
