Peter Bogdanovich was born July 30, 1939 in Kingston, New York, USA, and died at his home on January 6, 2022 from complications of Parkinson's disease.

Bogdanovich started out as an actor performing in television and summer stock. In the 1960s he began publishing essays and articles for magazines. His directorial break came with the classic film, The Last Picture Show, released in 1971. He went on to direct other critically acclaimed films; Paper Moon, Daisy Miller, and Mask.
