Tom Lehrer (b. 1928 in New York City) is an American satirist, musician, and mathematician. He is best known for recording several satirical albums in the 1950s, and despite having retired from public performing in the mid-1960s, still has a loyal following today. His songs have been performed on television shows That Was the Week That Was and The Electric Company, been made into a musical review, and are among the most requested songs on the Dr. Demento Show. Mr. Lehrer has taught at Harvard University and the University of California, Santa Cruz.
