Walney Island is an eleven mile long island just off the end of the Furness Penninsula by Barrow-in-Furness,
largely uninhabited south of Biggar, but connected by A590 road bridge ar the main conurbation, North Walney and having a BAE Systems air field to the north of North Scale.
