Yarmouth is a town and port in the western part of the Isle of Wight, served by a ferry from Lymington.
Yarmouth is named for its location at the mouth of the small western River Yar (there is also an Eastern Yar on the island).
The estuary was crossed by is ferry until the building of road bridge in 1863, continuing the A3054.
The west side of the estuary is represented by the  Norton category, as far south as  Freshwater, the next bridge over the River Yar.
On the east bank the parish boundary for Freshwater and Yarmouth is at Barnfields Bridge.
