Faringdon is a market town in the civil parish of Great Faringdon south of the River Thames, on the A417 road
from  Lechlade-on-Thames, in Gloucestereshire's Cotswold district, to the north west.
The A417 joins the A420 road which bypasses the east of the town, from  Oxford south west to  Watchfield.
