The Air National Guard of the United States (ANGUS) includes combat and combat support units in every state and territory of the U.S. They can be quickly mobilized for either local emergencies and natural disasters, or for national service during wartime.
These units are commanded by the governors of their respective states during peacetime, and by the president of the U.S. when mobilized for national emergencies.
